Just a message to thank all those who participated in Task Week. It was a great week despite some inclement weather, we had one day where the weather played ball and tasked to York, Stainton, Humber Bridge (+Whitby!). We had over 25 aerotows (+1 expensive field retrieve!). It must be the Treasurer in me still. Thanks also to Karen & Bernie who kept us fed and watered throughout the week including a smashing BBQ (albeit indoors) on Thursday evening! We also had a task meal at JJs Golf Club that is highly recommended should anyone be looking for local eateries!
Well done to all who participated, we made the most of the weather and learnt lots! Ending comments - never give up and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself - you never know what you might achieve!
Best effort award goes to Jim Roberts for his first task flight and his first land out! Well done Jim
Most meritous flight to Tim Milner who climbed up to 5,000ft in cloud /rain on a very plain weather day! Thanks also to Tim for a couple a cloud-reading and routing briefings – very informative!!
Overall scores for the (only taskable day!) below:
Over Whitby. Note the Abbey on the right and the Bridge (which is the TP).
Tim’s excellent briefings
The only sun we saw all week…
The Nimbus somewhere
The Nimbus over the bridge.
