Who can join The Wolds Gliding Club?

Gliding in general and our club in particular is in no way exclusive or elitist. Our membership is drawn from a very wide range of people.

On our current membership list we have Welders, Truck drivers, Consultant Surgeons, Teachers, Nurserymen, Unemployed, Solicitors, Salesmen, Storemen, Retired people, Farmers, Company Directors, Newsagents, Bricklayers, Engineers, Bus drivers, Machinists, ....................................... The list goes on.

You don't have to be young (or well dressed!) to fly a glider.

The point is, that Gliding is a sport that is open to everyone regardless of earnings, gender social standing or age.

Unlike many sports you also do not need to be at the peak of physical fitness. As long as you can climb into a glider (why not have a trial lesson to find out!), and you are in reasonable physical health you can fly with us. If you are in any doubt simply talk to your GP and get any advice you may need.
