The National Two Seater Competition 19th - 26th August   2018

Two Seater Competition is an important national event in the UK gliding calendar, and is held at Pocklington every August.

Over forty two seaters from all over Britain (and occasionally from mainland Europe) come together with about two hundred and fifty crew members for eight days during the week leading up to the August bank holiday.

One great adage for this competition is that it must be FUN.

The higher level regional and national competitions can get very serious and steely eyed so Two Seater Comp. was started back in the mid eighties as an alternative to this.

With our new clubhouse our facilities are excelent, there is plenty of room for caravans/tents and there is on site catering.

We try to keep competition as cheap as possible to enter.

  • The entry fee is per glider (no matter how many pilots).

  • No temporary membership fee.

  • Camping is free!

  • The only additional cost is for the launches you take during the week.

You don't have to have a posh glider to enter the Two Seater Comp!

Inexperienced? Persuade one of your instructors to come and fly with you, its great cross country training.

As a WGC member, you can either take part in the competition by being a P2 (or after training even P1) in one of our gliders or you can be a crew member to one of the entrants or you can help out with the organisational side to running one of the biggest competitions around.

Whatever you may do, you are certain to have a good time! volunteers are always required!
